The Institute of the Americas is pleased to present:
“The Value of Partnership: Building a More Democratic, Prosperous, and Resilient Western Hemisphere” by U.S. Assistant Secretary for the Western Hemisphere Affairs, Brian A. Nichols.
Assistant Secretary Nichols’ remarks will highlight U.S. policy in the Americas to strengthen democratic institutions, promote economic opportunity and increase citizen security amidst changing geo-politics and the on-going challenges of economic inequality, human migration, climate change and widespread insecurity. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions.
Brian A. Nichols is Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs. Mr. Nichols is a career Foreign Service Officer who has served as U.S. Ambassador to Zimbabwe, U.S. Ambassador to Peru, and as Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for International Narcotics Law Enforcement Affairs, and as Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Bogotá, Colombia.
