Welcome to the October edition of Energy Panorama.

In our featured report, published in collaboration with the Mexico Institute at the Wilson Center in Washington, DC, Jeremy Martin, John McNeece and Veronica Irastorza explore challenges and opportunities of greater electricity trade between the United States and Mexico and set forth a call for deeper integration.

We also celebrated World Geothermal Day this month with the second edition of our “Geothermal across the Americas” webinar series in collaboration with the Geothermal Energy Advancement Association (GEAA). The webinar featured expert panelists Michelle Ramírez Bueno, former Head of the Global Geothermal Alliance, Gerardo Hiriart, Director General of GEOKERI and Maria Cristina Higuera Cardozo, a lawyer with the Ministry of Mines & Energy of Colombia.

As part of our Energy Literacy objectives, in October, we kicked off the fourth edition of our Energy Ambassadors workshop for community leaders in Baja California.

We published a series of La Jolla Conference sideline interviews along with our “Curtain Raiser” interviews. Stay tuned for our full conference report.

In external engagements, Jeremy Martin participated as a virtual panelist at the annual ENAEP conference hosted in Quito, Ecuador, as well as an energy in the Americas outlook session organized by Florida International University. He also joined El Financiero Bloomberg TV for an analysis of Latin America’s energy sector and how leaders across the region are managing challenges facing the sector.
